It's ok, you can change your profile picture. I won't cry, I promise; but before you do, let me raise awareness a little more.
Here's what you can tell your pediatrician, gynecologist, midwife, nurse, and doctor: if a newborn presents with hypothermia, pectus excavatum, jaundice, loose and wrinkly skin, feeding intolerance and/or unusual hair (especially kinky or unusual hair) then please, please, please consider Menkes. It's better to rule it out, than to diagnose Menkes too late. Treatment has to begin in the first few days of life to offer hope.
To those of you who changed your profile picture to help us raise awareness, thank you!!! You rock!!!! And when you tell your doctor, consider it extra credit!!!!
I love you little guy! Let your faith be bigger than your fears.
